Arenas

Pate   Covered Arena and Shop/Garage Sherwood, OR

We designed a new covered arena and 2400 SF shop/garage with high bay doors for parking a motor home, truck and trailer. The arena size was limited by existing trees and grades. It is designed to have half walls to enable the views to the surrounding forest and roof skylight panels to bring in natural light. Concrete unit pavers were incorporated to enhance the expanses of hard surface required for circulation.

Heirloom Equestrian Center, Twenty Stall Barn, Arena and Site, Battle Ground, WA (Preece)

The clients purchased a twenty acre site to build and develop a training and boarding facility primarily for hunters/jumpers. farm+ranch Equine Design developed the overall Site Plans and architectural drawings for permits, bidding and construction of a 20 stall barn and 120’ x 240’ arena structure that also contained support facilities, viewing room, office, rest rooms, tack rooms and wash/grooming stalls.

Forward Stride Therapeutic Riding Center, Beaverton, OR

Masterplan development for a 20 acre site to be constructed in phases to accommodate up to 35 horses, staff and clients who participate in various forms of equine assisted therapy. The work by farm+ranch Equine Design included site analysis, working with staff on vision and programming elements for development, development of overall site layout and preliminary grading.  Phase One structures included a 120’ x 240’ WeCover structure to house the arena, stalls, viewing areas and support facilities. We worked with Civil and Structural Engineers to complete approval drawings. farm+ranch Equine Design prepared promotional drawings for fund raising and cost estimates for budgeting approvals and prioritization of donated funds. We also designed landscape plantings, lighting, and site features.

White Oak Farm Four Stall Barn, Arena and Site, Sherwood, OR (Woodward)

Design of a four stall barn, 72’ x 160’ WeCover arena, four bay storage barn, and site amenities on a five acre site. This project was quite unique in that we had to deconstruct a large, old covered arena and barn to begin with. Most of the building materials were recycled for use elsewhere. The site was completely redesigned with a new residence placed at the center of the site with the new arena, barn, O2Compost structure and storage building to the rear of the property. Linda Royer designed the site layout, new structures, grading, drainage, utilities, site lighting, landscape, and site features. Buildings were designed to follow the style, materials and colors set by the new residence.
